Green Canyon Hot Springs

We went swimming yesterday at Green Canyon and Lisa really loved it. She was pretty clingy at first, but then ended up being a lot braver than I thought she'd be. Her feet could touch the bottom in the shallow end so I just kept telling her it was like a big bath so she wouldn't be scared. She loves the bath (and actually I do let it get quite full sometimes). Then I tried to get her to jump off the side into my arms and she surprised me by totally going for it. Of course, then she didn't want to stop doing it. And I love how she always chooses random numbers to count off...we never know when she's going to jump. She'll count to seven one time, four the n next...I think Ryan was trying to get her to stick with a good, solid five. It was a fun day. We will definitely spend more time there this summer.

Planting our little herb garden

I've been checking out books about Spring and planting seeds and stuff and tonight we got to put it into action. Hopefully we will see basil, ciantro and thyme sprouting up soon.

Helping daddy put the soil in. (Yes I got my hands dirty, too!)

Cheese! Humoring mommy by posing for the camera.

Tyin' flies...my new hobby?

This week Ryan and I went to a fly tying clinic that BYU-I activities put together and I tied my first fly! It was actually pretty cool. We tied a fairly simple one, the pheasant tail nymph, but Ryan says they can get really complicated. We were happy to hear that the class will be meeting every other Thursday all summer so hopefully I will get a chance to tie some more complicated ones. I can't wait to catch a fish on this one!

Summer!

Summer has finally decided to show it's face in Rexburg. Hopefully for good. Sunday night I came back from a week long trip to sunny California and Monday morning in Rexburg what should I wake up to but that persistent snow falling from the sky! I'm not usually one to complain about prolonged winters, but I think I've reached my limit. Probably because Lisa would spend all day outside everyday if we'd let her and so I'm anxious for consistent warm weather.

Lisa has also learned to pedal her tricycle. It took awhile, but she finally figured it out about a month ago.

Gone Fishin'

This was Lisa's first attempt at reeling in the line. It wasn't a great fishing day cause the water levels were too high, but she did a pretty good job anyway . She was very particular about how Ryan helped her hold the rod. He is very excited to take her fishing this summer and actually get a fish on the line for her to reel in.

She also really enjoyed throwing rocks into the water.

It's a bird...it's a plane...NO! It's Super Lisa!!!

I don't know about the rest of you, but this used to be one of my favorite games when I was a kid. Lisa can't get enough of it.

Oh Sundays...gotta love 'em!

This is Lisa before church...

This water fountain shoots about 2 feet out from the fountain, a great source of amusement for unsuspecting toddlers.

I had brought the camera with me to church because Lisa was wearing her cute dress and I thought I'd take a few pictures. When she kept trying to run out of sacrament meeting we decided, rather than not hearing anything in the halls at church, we'd take her over to the gardens and not hear anything. It was a beautiful day. Lisa would spend endless hours outside if we'd let her.

She gets this zoned out face quite often. You actually have to call her back. And it takes a few tries.

This is Lisa after church...she loves to ride the elevator. She tries to do it all by herself.

The end. Fun day.
