If you haven't already looked at Ryan's Backpacker's Blog link in my list of links, you should so you can see cool pictures from our trip 2 weeks ago. I just wanted to post a few here that he didn't post on his and say that I just love our backpacking getaways. Even if it's only for one night, it's so nice to spend time with just him and I doing something we love together. Being away from the noise of the world I get to remember all the reasons I love him so much. His sense of adventure, his endless energy and optimistic outlook, his intriguing intellect, how good he looks in a pair of hiking pants, just to name a few. We are looking forward to so many more trips together.

Here I am near the beginning of the trail before I got all gross and sweaty.

There was lots and lots of water from the snow run-off. Here's Ryan crossing a log over one particularly wet area.

There was one section of the trail just before we made it to the lake where it was almost straight up. Ryan, my hero, dug out little steps for me to follow behind him. The view was very nice. Too bad we didn't take a video of coming down. That was quite the thrill. We slid down on our butts and got going pretty fast. I was so scared I said
nothing and just screamed as I slid down.
